My brother the traitor
"If it's all the same to you, I'll have that drink now..."
As soon as he said those words, everything suddenly changed. He'd been staring up at the group known as the Avengers, who all had their various weapons...or fists pointed at him; next thing he knew he was alone in a grassy area, which he assumed was some sort of park.
Though he had no idea what had happened, or where he actually was, Loki sighed in relief at the realisation that he was, for now, free from the Avengers.
"But where am I...?" He asked himself out loud as he slowly got to his feet, brushing the dust off of his clothes.
He turned on the spot, slowly looking at his surroundings, curious as to what had happened and why, though for now the why didn't bother him so much because he figured it was better than the alternative. He jumped at a sudden sound, quickly turning to find the source, though for all he knew it could have just been a bird.
"Who's there?" He called out, suddenly paranoid he hadn't arrived at the place alone. "I demand that you show yourself!"

Re: My brother the traitor
If there was one thing that Morgan hated more than having to walk to her first class, it was the fact that she had to do it while under the scrutiny of males. The boys her age thought that just because she was cute, they could make passes and say things about her that no decent man should say in the presence of a lady.
How she longed for the way things had been before she had been transported to this dreadful world.
"One more push Morgan my love," her loving and doting warlord husband King Lot urged as Morganna lay in the bed of their castle. All of her magic, all of her scheming led up to this. Nine months ago while her brother, King Arthur, had been on the outs with his wife Queen Guinevere, Morganna had taken the guise of the beautiful blonde. Now, in the skin she was born in, Morganna was giving birth to a son.
She knew it would be a son because of her other powers. Along with the ability to shapeshift, she could see into the future.
"My love it's done," Lot laughed as the midwife raised their child, "You have gifted me with a son."
Poor ignorant Lot. He hadn't known, no he couldn't grasp what she could do. And as she looked at him, the world she knew faded from her and she had ended up here in New York City. A dark and dirty place worse than her brothers rule.
Morgan shook her head. That was the old world. The new world would be much better, much more promising. She was going to school here, recieving the education her world would have never allowed her to have. She planned on going to become a leader of some sort.
As she walked through the park, she saw a man dressed very oddly for the day. She eased over, getting a better look at him. He was dressed in armor. The garb of a man of power of her world.
"I'm sorry if I frightened you," she replied to him, "I thought I'd come get a closer look at you. You aren't from here are you?"

Re: My brother the traitor
Seeing the young blonde, Loki tilted his head to one side, a curious look on his face as he looked at her. He relaxed a little seeing that she wasn't anyone from where he'd come from, though he still kept his guard up, past experiences having taught him not to trust others by appearance.
He took a breath to calm himself before answering her question. "You did not frighten me," He said, his voice soft. "I simply mistook your appearance for that of someone I'd rather not have to deal with."
Reaching a hand up, Loki ran a hand through his dark hair as he looked around again. "That would depend on where exactly we are I suppose..."

"Well, sir, we are in New York City," Morgan replied, spreading out her arms to gesture at the scenery around here. "I've found it to be the cultural mecha of this disgusting land they call The United States of America."
She shifted the satchel that held her books on her shoulder. If she didn't hurry she knew that she would be late. However, she also knew that this man needed help.
"Tell me, what is your name good sir?"

"New York City..." Loki said slowly, nodding before pulling a face. "So I'm still here then." He muttered before looking worried.
"It's not really the nicest of places is it?" He said more to himself than her, looking distracted. When she called him 'sir' though, he paused and turned to look at her again. "Sir? Most people do not speak to me with such respect, regardless of whether or not I deserve it."
Loki looked around again, sighing when he realised he wasn't familiar with the area. "Laufeyson..." He added as an afterthought, having almost forgotten she'd asked his name.

"Of course I'd call you sir, it's only respectful to address any man as such," Morganna replied with a slight curtsy. She looked curious at the name. Laufeyson was something she could swear that she had heard once in her life. It was something that sounded different.
"Laufeyson is a different sort of name," she smiled, "Allow me to introduce myself to you, I am Morganna. However, my friends call me Morgan. It sets them more at ease."
"Can I ask why you are dressed like this?" she gestured at the outfit he wore.

Re: My brother the traitor
Loki couldn't help but smile as she curtsied, not used to the show of manners. "Morganna? Why would you shorten such a name, surely it bothers you to do such a thing...? He asked before looking down at his green outfit.
He hesitated before answering her other question, slipping into his natural habit of lying. He was worried about how she'd react to the truth and decided it was better not to say anything that might attract too much attention.
"I was at a costume party," He said calmly as if it were really the truth, quickly thinking of a believable story. "I'm afraid I got carried away last night. I must have wandered farther than I meant to..."

Re: My brother the traitor
"People tend to think lowly on that name seeing as it is from a better age then their own and they do not know about the wonders of that age," Morgan replied softly, looking him over. There was something intriguing about this young man. Something that she couldn't place.
She saw the way his mouth twitched, the way he didn't meet her eyes fully when he responded. This was a lie and she knew it. Reading people was the only magic she had left and she was not going to let it leave her.
"A costume party eh? Why is there a costume party this time of year? After all, this is the Christian holiday of Christmas. Even if you believed in the same religion that I did, you wouldn't be heading to a costume party," chuckled Morganna. "Maybe I need to spend time with the men and women you spend time with."

Re: My brother the traitor
"I..." Loki started, trying to come up with a decent explanation. He realised though that he didn't know enough about the traditions of the place to sound believable and let out a sigh, running a hand through his dark hair as he looked at her properly.
"The men and women I most recently spent time with 'threatened' me, tried to put an arrow through my eye and tossed me around like I was nothing but a child's toy." He said bitterly, frowning as he thought about what had happened before he'd ended up in the park.
"Still," He added, his voice back to it's usual softer tone. "I do not know how I ended up out here... Though I'm fairly sure it had nothing to do with alcohol; perhaps maybe one of the blows I recieved actually managed to knock me out and I am simply dreaming this?"

Re: My brother the traitor
"So you aren't from here!" Morgan softly exclaimed, "your from somewhere else like I am. These men who attacked you, there are some there that find you to be doing the wrong thing when all your doing is trying to keep up what you believe in."
She smiled and patted his shoulder, "Your not dreaming. Trust me, your wide awake. Now, come with me, I'm going to get you in something different. To make sure you look the part. You run around like this out there, they are so gonna laugh at you."

Re: My brother the traitor
"Well...no," Loki sighed. "I guess I'm not. ...though I didn't exactly belong where I was either." He said, muttering the last part as he looked off at nothing in particular, not sure how much he should say, especially when he wasn't even sure if he should trust the girl.
"I suppose I would attract a few odd looks if I walked around like this, wouldn't I...?" Loki said absent-mindedly as he looked down at his clothes. "They do tend to stand out a bit, especially if this place is different."
After brushing more dust off his clothes, Loki took a step towards her, almost hesitantly, almost as if expecting her offer to be some sort of a trick.
"Oh...and the people who attacked me...they weren't all men. One was a women." He added, eyeing Morgan suspiciously.

Re: My brother the traitor
A gleam of laughter passed through her eyes though it did not reach her lips. Morgan was poised enough to know that this man would NOT tolerate any laughter at things he said unless he himself was cracking a joke. Whoever he was, she had a glimmer of hope that he could help her get home. It had to be that way, he was to different for it to be anything else.
"Well, where I am from you would get the highest of praises from the men and women because those clothes are rather close to the God Loki. Even if he is just a trickster god, there were a few men and women who followed his ways and the ways of the old gods still," replied Morganna as she turned her back on him. She knew that the old gods had been on their way out when she left but she also knew that mages like herself worshipped Loki and Freya above all.
She turned over her shoulder at the statement that not all of them were men. She laughed, "Oh trust me, I don't have the things that make me a formidable woman here with me."

Re: My brother the traitor
"There are people who follow the ways of Loki?" He couldn't help but ask after hearing such a thing, not bothering to hide his curiousity. "Why would one do that exactly...? Most look down on Loki because he causes mischief."
He stopped before saying anything else, thinking about how to word it first without accidentally revealing that he was in fact Loki, deciding to let her figure it out for herself. His curious nature though got the best of him and he couldn't help but question her further.
"...how exactly are my clothes merely close to Loki's? And...if you don't mind my asking, how were you formidable? No offence but you don't look as if you would have much power behind a swing of a sword or hammer..."

"Yes," she smiled with a nod, "where I'm from a chosen few still follow the call of Loki and his mother Freya. These few are skilled in the art of magic and would rather use that then be and utter brute with a sword, shield, hammer, or axe."
She looked him over, there was something strange about him. The way he talked, the way he seemed to know about Loki. None of these pathetic men believed her stories about when she said she was from somewhere else, another time, but this man had yet to question her. There was only one explination.
"You're not from here either," replied Morganna in a very matter of fact way. "Your close aren't merely close to Loki's, they are Loki's. Your Loki."

Re: My brother the traitor
Loki took a step backwards, watching her almost nervously after she'd guessed who he was despite what she'd said about followers. His natural response to being recognised was to escape the situation, having usually been in trouble when such a thing happened. He didn't flee though like he was tempted to, he knew that would be foolish in an unfamiliar area when he stood out so easily.
Instead he watched her with a curious look on his face, hesitating before stepping forwards again, stopping when he was closer to her than he'd been earlier, looking her over before speaking.
"It matters not if I am Loki," He said quietly, as if worried someone may be listening to them. "What matters right now is that I'm not where I was before...and that I do not know how it happened."

Re: My brother the traitor
"None of us do," Morganna shrugged, letting Loki know that he wasn't alone in what had happened to him. She gave a small curtsy, the hem of her long dress sweeping the ground. "I am Morganna, as I have said before. In the world that I come from, a world that is much different than here, I was known as Morganna Le Faye. Perhaps you have read the legends of me?"

"I take it you aren't too fond of Guinevere?" Loki asked curiously after seeing the sour look. "Did she wrong you in some way...?"
He slowly reached a hand up, touching an area where he'd been injured earlier, making a quiet sound, surprised to find the injury didn't seem to be there in this world. "Interesting..." He said quietly to himself.

Loki pulled a face at the mention of a brother, muttering under his breath before responding. "I guess you are right, they matter not if they aren't here..." He said, trailing off and frowning. The frown quickly disappeared though when he realised what else she'd said.
"You...have a son?" He asked curiously. "Do you not miss him?"

"What of those who attacked you," Morganna replied instead of answering his question, "who were they?"
Of course she missed her son. Every second she was in this world she thought of what might have become of him. It was never easy.

Loki went to question her, but decided it was better not to after past experiences, instead hesitating before answering the question she'd asked him. "They were a bunch of lost souls who thought they could stand up against an army" He said quietly, his expression turning bitter before he continued. "...one of them was my 'brother'."
